A Realtor for over 30 years, I'm licensed in Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania.  After initially working in commercial property, I discovered that I much preferred the personal side of residential real estate and I devoted myself to full-time residential sales in 1989.  In addition to listing and selling residential real estate, I also manage the Patterson-Schwartz Newark and Elkton Sales Centers, with eighty agents and over $250 million in annual sales.

I'm proud to be a local New Castle boy, graduating from St. Peter's School, then Wilmington Friends School and then the University of Delaware where I obtained my BS in Business Administration.  A nearly-lifelong resident of New Castle, I live in the historic area with my wife.  My two daughters grew up in New Castle playing in Battery Park and walking on the Presbyterian Church walls.  Now my grandchildren are enjoying all that New Castle has to offer.  New Castle is a special place and I love living here.  I value the opportunity to help my neighbors sell their homes and enjoy introducing new residents to the wonderful experience of living in this great town.  My respect for the historic nature of New Castle's buildings and land is a fundamental personal value.  My experience with the Historic Area Commission is based on years of personal and professional dealings.

Becoming the resident expert on Old New Castle real estate is what happens when you live and work in the same neighborhood for so long.  I'm happy to lend my expertise not only to my friends and neighbors, but also to other real estate professionals, appraisers, and home inspectors who often call with questions about the unique aspects of individual properties within our town.  I've consistently captured the largest market share in the historic area of New Castle by using the latest technology and delivering excellent customer service.

In addition to real estate work, I've also spent a good amount of time volunteering for various great causes, including:

  • The New Castle Library - Past President and Chair of the Expansion Committee
  • Junior Achievement - Advisor for 10 years
  • St. Peter the Apostle - past member, Pastoral Council
  • Wilmington Friends School - Former Class Agent
  • MS150 Bike to the Bay - top 20 fundraiser/participant for 15 years
  • New Castle Historical Society - Executive Committee - 2019 to Present
